With the unveiling of a new “Friends” program that was announced April 9th, new backstage benefits are now available to financial donors to The Little Theatre On The Square. John Stephens, Executive Director, said that while donors to the theatre have always been very important, it wasn’t until this new program was developed and announced that there were any formal benefit programs available as a thank you to those that make the success of the theatre possible.
Stephens described the new Friends program as opening the world behind the stage through private “Friends Only” receptions, Talk-backs with actors, Opening and Closing Night Parties, Preview Parties, Dress Rehearsals and Announcement parties. Many of these activities will be held on the stage and, for the first time, backstage and support facility tours will be available exclusively to Friends Members.
The theatre is excited about the new level of engagement that the program offers between members of Friends and the management of the theatre. Stephens explained, for example, that members would be invited to a new annual Friends Preview Party to help select the following year’s productions. “The Theatre has always worked hard to offer productions that appeal to all age groups and interests”, Stephens said, “but the new Friends Program allows members to join us in previewing possible productions and directly share with us their interests and preferences. We look forward to this input.”
Members of The Little Theatre Friends group will also be eligible to participate in private theatre tours, with possible theatre trips to Chicago, New York, London and other destinations.
Interested persons can select from several available levels of donations and each has its own unique benefits. For more information, you can contact the theatre at 217-728-2065 or by email to john@thelittletheatre.org.
